EPS Effluent Pond Stirrers

The PLUCK’SEPS Stirrer works by using a big three bladed propeller rotating at a slow speed, that is submerged to a specific depth below the surface of your pond but still floating on a very solid raft, the blade then draws the liquid upwards and spreads the flow horizontally outwards, thereby creating a beautiful cycling type of motion within your pond, so anything on the top gets drawn down and blended and anything on the bottom gets drawn up and blended as well.

All of your pond crust will get eroded and mixed in, even if your pond has a crust so thick you can walk on it before you install a PLUCK’SEPS Stirrer, you just need to clear an area on the surface of your pond with enough room for the Stirrer to get a current of liquid moving and over the next few months the crust will be eroded and gone for good, and of course what you can see happening on the top to the crust is exactly what is happening on the bottom to the sludge.

Throughout our development of the PLUCK’SEPS Stirrer we used a Lincoln College scientist to help us with pond biology, to ensure we were on track with the outcome we wanted for our customers, which is not only a good clean looking pond containing a beautiful blend of effluent but a pond that is active in its biology as well, which is exactly what we achieved.

Because your effluent is being mixed so well the liquid is getting the required amount of oxygen and sunlight every time the liquid comes to the top. This oxygen and sunlight keeps your pond aerobic and biologically active, not stagnant, dead, smelly, crusty and over grown. The PLUCK’SEPS Stirrer can achieve this because to get all the biology to happen we need to agitate the total pond liquid volume powerfully and keep it moving with out creating a foaming carpet.

The PLUCK’SEPS Stirrer blades are professionally designed by a New Zealand company that involved a huge amount of science to get the exact blade shape to move the maximum amount of dairy effluent pond liquid for very little Hp.

So instead of a basic blade shape needing big Hp that creates only cavitations and foam, thrashing about on the top of the pond, we insisted on using lots of technology. We mounted our new high tech blades to a very solid stainless steel shaft, gear box and basic raft design that we have used for nearly 20 years to float our Enviro saucer pump rafts.

All the bearings are above the water line and are fitted with auto greasers that grease for 12 months unattended.

The PLUCK’SEPS Stirrers can be permanently fitted to your new or existing pump raft, whether it is in a small vertical tank or all the way up to huge concrete or rubber lined ponds or even earth ponds. They can be free floating on their own and tethered to the sides of your pond, and for really big ponds you may need more than one PLUCK’SEPS Stirrer.

Once your PLUCK’SEPS Stirrer has been in your pond for a few months your whole pond will be one beautiful blended mix of very rich effluent, all solids and sludge is suspended so your pump can now suck the liquid up and get the new blend out onto your paddock where it belongs.

Also every time you wash after milking you will in fact be diluting the pond mix because, the solids that used to just settle out almost straight away (in fact within an hour) and build up on the bottom of your pond taking up valuable pond volume day by day, will now be pumped out every time your pump runs.

Which means you will be able (for the first time since the pond was new), to run your pond nearly empty, leaving you with a huge amount of available pond volume for effluent storage on the wet days (or even weeks) when you can’t irrigate.

You will no longer need the sucker truck contractor to come to your farm to get you out of trouble because things are getting all built up on the bottom and top of your pond.
